In 1990 my husband Brian and I purchased our first golden retriever. Brian had just graduated from WSU and was headed home to Coulee City to start farming with his family. At the time, I was just a sophomore at WSU, so I thought this adorable puppy would keep him company for a couple of years while I completed my studies. Unfortunately, a year and half later our sweet girl was stolen. At the time, we decided to wait to get another puppy until we were married. So, truly, the golden retriever that we received as a wedding gift was the beginning of Coulee Country Kennel. All these years later, Brian and I live on the family farm in Coulee City with 4 children while a 5th is off at college. Our family business has grown one litter at a time! We never really had a business plan, but we have poured our hearts into these goldens and our business has grown year by year. We have been blessed to work with so many wonderful families. We have met so many amazing people and the stories are just countless.
Truly, adding a new puppy to any family is a big decision and the people who come to CCK are loving and caring families who are looking forward to completing their family portrait with a golden bundle of love. Sometimes in life the best things are not always planned. Cleary, this Seattle girl never thought she would be nestled out in the sticks raising and training puppies in a small farming town in the middle of wheat country!
